| The area is currently under a Tornado Watch until 8:00 PM this evening. This means conditions are favorable for tornadoes to develop.
What does that mean in simple terms? It means the sky might try to spin like a washing machine, and we’d all prefer it didn’t.
Please keep an eye on the weather this evening and have a plan in case things get spicy. If warnings are issued, move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest level of your home, away from windows.
Also a few friendly reminders: Trampolines are not approved emergency evacuation devices. Lawn furniture makes a terrible kite. If you see your neighbor’s grill flying by, it’s probably too late to chase it.
Our volunteers will be keeping an eye on conditions and are ready to respond if needed. Stay weather aware, secure loose items outside, and keep your phones charged.
And as always — don’t call the fire station to ask if the tornado is coming down your street… we’re looking at the same radar you are.
