As Engine Tanker 17 (ET 17) was responding, the first arriving crews confirmed that there was indeed a working fire, but there was no entrapment. While ET 17 was returning to our primary area, Company 17 was alerted again at 16:21 for a brush fire near 1600 Allport Cutoff. Engine Rescue 17, Rescue 17, and Command 17 responded to this incident, while ET 17 was canceled. In the early morning hours of March 19, Company 17 was alerted to a single vehicle accident with entrapment on Interstate 80 at the 128 mile marker. Engine Rescue 17 and Rescue 17 responded to this incident, along with Moshannon Valley EMS . Upon arrival, crew members used two spreaders and one pair of cutters to free the single occupant from the vehicle. As crews were working at the scene, the Grassflat Volunteer Fire Company and Winburne Fire Company Number One were alerted to establish a landing zone at the Kylertown Truck Stop for air medical. |
